A garden planned by its growers
The people tending the beds decide what should grow next.
Before the next beds were marked out, the garden team met to talk about the previous season. Some crops had grown well. Others needed more water than the team could reliably provide. The most useful plan began with that honest review.
Growers compared notes about soil, access to tools, and the hours people could realistically give. They chose fewer crops and agreed on a shared watering schedule. The result looked simpler on paper, but it reflected the people who would actually carry the work.
A project can be busy without being sustainable. Our role is to support the decisions local teams make, help record costs and progress, and ask what will be needed after the first planting. Replacing a broken tool belongs in the budget just as much as buying the first one.
This season's plan includes twenty-four beds and a small reserve for repairs. We will share an update when planting is complete, including anything the team changes along the way. Thank you for supporting work that leaves room for local knowledge and for learning from a difficult season.
If you would like the current project plan or a fuller financial summary, contact our partnerships team. We welcome questions about how decisions are made, how funds are recorded, and what our local partners expect to happen during the next season of work.
Our next update will return to these same commitments. We want partners to be able to follow a project over time, compare the plan with the work, and understand a delay when one happens. A useful report should help you ask better questions about the work you support.
